The Spartans kick started their 2007 campaing off with a solid win over gold medal winners, the Usual suspects, last night. Fielding first the irrepressable Spartans defended well and were unlucky not to restrict the bulbous UP to under the 113, they eventaully managed to piece together.

All the bowlers faired well particularly Rob who showed just how much a honest pie a day can help in creating enough buoyancy to counter gravity. Opening the batting for the Spartans Cathenator and "Jason vs Freddie" compiled an honest 33 runs, a few short perhaps, but a target that kept the team on track. Rob and Angela faired poorly against the quality attack managing to scrape together an IT record low 16 runs. It has been recommended that both players go on a strict diet of hamburgers and pies to create buoynacy in the anti-gravitational boep pouches. The third partenrship of Nic and Wiggles proved to be the highlight of the day. Both players out did themselves in comparison to previous weeks showing that performance anxiety is no problem for them. Both players are sponsored by a chemical stimulant company. The final pairing of Harry and TajikistanDerica paved the way to another Spartans victory, Dericastan played well showing that Wellington has more to offer than just racial segregation and chutney. Harry proved he has what it takes to be an average international test batsmen. Well done again to the team, your spiritual guide and no.1 mascot WMD is proud of each one of you *tear* !!
