LEGION CRUSH NOT GUILTY

VOORTMAN NEWS - The red24 legion emerged victorious last night as they breezed past “Not Guilty” (of defense?) in front of a sell out crowd at the stadium on main. It was the legions first game after moving up 3 leagues to Premier League 8 and our opponents seized on our new boy status by opening the scoring. The score at half time was 2-2 to the league 8 veterans. But the second half was a thing of beauty as the legion stuck 6 goals past the not gulty’s goalkeeper, who happened to be their one and only quota player. Yoshiya Sato was once again inspirational scoring some fine goals (4) including once which was so beautiful it brought a tear to his captains eye. Sporting the white headband (which is starting to rival rob’s goalie jersey in terms of smell) Pakka Malaka was his usual self, menacing in defense and lethal in attack scoring a calmly taken penalty before sending an unstoppable shot past the hapless geriatric keeper. Bundes started the game and showed his usual German efficiency, creating many a chance for the legion. Glare didn’t let a mild bout of the flu stop him from impressing his wife as he repeatedly robbed the “Not Guilty’s” of the ball. The wall also had an impressive game as he adapted to the new rules and sent many of the opponents running away from goal to escape the dreaded jersey. All in all a good start to our League 8 campaign. Thanks to all the supporters, who would still have come if they were not playing cricket after the game. -pakker reporting from the Khost.
