Spartans new recruit reveals all

Spartans editorial staff wish to thank JP for his blunt disregard for false testimony in his first ever interview.

How many games of action cricket have you played and for whom?
I once played an action tiddlewinks game against my pet hamster... does that count? I have only played one strictly action cricket game... for the mighty red24 spartans.... although I try to forget about my missed run out attempt!

Whats your fondest memory of Clive Rice?
Definitely his moustache... it gave me goose bumps when I kissed him last!

When did you first see a cricket stroke?
I arrived late one day at a game that my uncle Bertie was playing in... unfortunately the 1st stroke I saw resulted in the passing away of Oom Kobus... he didn't have a very good heart!

Do you think cricket the insect and cricket the game should be differentiated?
Absolutely not... the inspiration that the game draws from the insect can't be questioned. The legside action of the cricket (insect) has inspired the cricket game's noise!!

Why did the chicken cross the pitch?
To get to silly point

How do you think the transfer of Chirp to Nagatuna will effect the team?
Its a devastating loss... one that we will battle to come through. I do however have faith that after a good session with the team psychologist and a little help from the cricketing god (David Boon.. bless his soul) we will become a stronger unit!

Where did you go to school and why?

"David Boon's School for those who want to drink and grow a Tasmanian sized Moustache".... There was no way my parents would send me anywhere else!

Who has scored the fastest T20 50?
David Boon of course... what few people realise is that he in fact invented 20/20 cricket.... It was a practical way to maximise drinking time and moustache cultivation. He smashed 50 off just 8 balls... There were much better rules in the game he invented though... you got twelve runs if you downed a beer, ran 3 times round the stumps and could hit the umpire with a thunderous straight drive... David Boon (bless his soul) did that twice in his innings!!!

See JP and the rest of the Spartans in action next Wednesday at the Stadium of Light in Claremont.
