Spartans lose by a whisker and a half (ok by a full kitten)

The Spartans sufferred a character building defeat yesterday in the face of severe and relentless opposition. The Ghecko outfit, reminiscant of the 1965 all conquering Weirdho team, swept the Spartans outside in a display of cunning manipulation and bending of the laws. Some commentators have stated their distaste in the way they play, although the are at pains to admit that it delivers a brand of cricket that shows us where the game is going. The Spartan cause was never to be last night. After an average batting, fielding and bowling performance it was left to a fan in the crowd to buy the second round for the team. Thanks man. Thanks also to Abigail Force and Dupeee for helping us out. Their performances with the bat and in the field respectively lifted the spirits of the entire company. Indeed in a late night tele conference last night between WMD and Hammy the Hamstersmith Hamster, this captain could hear whimpers across the line...it touched a cord in his black heart. Spartans next fixture is next week, we will win.
In other news, Smurf, kitten extraordinaire, has been elected as the official team mascot. As soon as it can stay awake for more than 10 minutes it will be present at the games, cutting the oranges, handing out drinks and hissing at the opposition-a job previosuly held by Rob.
