Peace in the Middle East

Following talks between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Ismael Haniya of Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and George Bush it has been agreed that the future of Israel will be decided through a four team action cricket event hosted at the Action cricket stadium of light. The winner of the round robin will receive the Holy city of Jerusalem and the Israel mainland, while the runners up will get the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The third and fourth placed teams will play each other in a series of games to decide who get to relocate to New Zealand. The team coming last will be assimilated into US society. It is unclear what will happen if the US come last. Commentators have said that it is likely that the US official language may be changed to Spanish. The firm favourites, Hamas, have enlisted the services of ace batsmen Ahmad Al-Ahly, a former suicide bomber who successfully carried out 4 operations. His steel and longlivety will add to the middle order overs. Key Israeli bowler, Jonas Pont, has said that any quick fire start from Abbas’ Fatah Fighters or Bush’s Third Army Angry Guys will be negated by the Israeli fighting spirit. The Israeli team, Spirit of ’49, are 20-1 to win the first game against Hamas. The second game will feature the Third Army Angry Guys against the Fatah faction Fatah Fighters. The series begins on 23 December. Tickets have been sold out and clashes are expected at the game amongst the fans.
