Match Report: Tigers overrun 24s

The24s unbeaten streak came to a miserable end last night as the Tygerberg Tigers ran away to an empahtic 40 run victory. Looking to secure top honours against the Mx2 Tigers the24s bowled first but were unable to restrict the Tigers to any sort of reachable score. However, the game could have gone the 24s way had it not been for some poor fielding and bowling at the death that led to the inexcusable loss. At one stage the Tastic Tigers were 60 after 7 overs. the game rested on putting pressure on the final pair however, and this the 24s never did. Tiger final pair of Man and Manwo put on 54 to crush the hopes of the 24s before the second innings could commence.

With 140+ to chase it was never going to be easy, however, the Tiger bowlers sensing an early night hardly stuck to any sort of game plan, leaking extras at every opportunity. Susan the running man, made early in-roads into the total with a well played 20, Grant supported the senior partner well with 12.

Even this early good fortune was not enough for the 24s however, and batting pairs 2 and 3 failed to live up to their billing. A final stand of 35 between Cath and dre salvaged some pride but at the end of the day the 24s lost to a better team. Well done Toten pole Tigers.
