The red24 cricket team clinched a second successive victory when they destroyed the very limited Youth Unlimited last night (14 august) in a one sided affair dominated by the superior techniques and talent of the Raging Red Machine. The 24s opened up proceedings with an excellent 60 run knock between Catherine (19) and WMD (41). The bowling served up can best be described as shocking and the batters capitalised, boosting their averages in the mean time. The rest of the innings was characterised by undisciplined bowling from the rank rookie Youth team and excellent batting from the 24s contingent. Substantial knocks were played by Rob (32), Angela (22), Mark (9), Cathy (13&17) and Nic (13). Nics backhand proved quite stinging during the night...The final tally saw the 24s accumulate an unassailable 166. Youth Unltd showed why they were voted worst team ever to lose all their games, when they succumbed to 33 in 16 overs. Admirable bowling displays by Angela (5 for -9), Mark (4 for -4), Rob (6 for 0) and Nic (3 for 7).
There must be questions raised over the decision by the ICC to give action cricket status to teams like Youth Unltd. Is this where we want cricket to go? For more on this issue please visit www.beedogs.com.
In other news the Anti-Doping in Sports Association (ADSA) has decided not to test Youth Unltd. ADSA tested Sindlers yesterday and reports are that certain players chromosomes may have a number of discrepancies. The angry drug "spitfire" was also reportedly found in the blood of the captain. Glen commented on these developments saying that"taking drugs isnt cool, unless its mixed with some pie and coke from pnp."
