24s domination continues

The 24s scored an impressive 40 run victory over the much facied Breast-away Blue Streek team last night. Following the toss the 24s were asked to bat first by Blue Streek captain Fahaad "I condone the use of the chest" Abrahams. Opening the innings stand was 24s player Shaheen "I never want to see that shot again" Safeeda and Catherine the Lion Heart. A good start to the innings saw the pair put on a respectable +- 25 runs. The following pairs faired poorly and much of the apparently good bowling was owed to the nature of the ball, which bounced higher than a kangaroo-hamster high on red bull. The 24s ended their innings on 88. It didnt seem like enough runs; however a positive fielding attitude and the backing of a healthy 24s crowd proved decisive in bowling the Blue Chesters out for a miserly 48 runs, the lowest by this team, ever. The highlight of the streek innings must undoubtedly be Fahina "sumo" Adams' amazing chest stroke. This shot was first invented by Harry Gumpshoe of Westville Tennesse. Having no arms, but being an avid cricket lover, he strapped a bat to his chest and played glorious pulls and cuts. Adams had two arms but apparently someone forgot to tell her that. The 24s enter the end of the season as firm favourites to take the title and the accompaning gold medals.
